Meet laurel

University of Louisiana at Lafayette Senior ’26
Laurel is a Performing Arts major currently pursuing her BFA with a minor in Musical Theatre. Born and raised in Lafayette, Laurel grew up playing clarinet, singing, dancing, and being involved with theatre.Â
This past summer (2025), Laurel stage managed and was props master on five shows at the Canterbury Summer Theatre in Michigan City, Indiana. Their highlights were working with director Ray Scott Crawford on A Year with Frog and Toad and director RJ Magee on Baby (revised version).
In the summer of 2024, Laurel was fortunate to go to Rome after receiving the Jean Breaux Award grant from The Acadiana Center For The Arts to stage manage Peter and The Starcatcher as a collaboration between the UL theatre department and The English Theatre of Rome.
Their most recent work in the ULL Performing Arts program was stage managing Carlo Goldoni’s The Servant of Two Masters a traditional Italian Commedia dell’Arte play with Italian director Giovanni Solinas. She has also been on the stage having played Queen Rosamund in Alfred Jarry’s absurdist play Ubu Roi, and she was in Shakespeare’s The Tempest as a Spirit and has worked on many other shows in a variety of positions.
In the ULL Performing Arts department, Laurel gets paid to design and help out with marketing/running the socials and is involved with the theatre honors society, Alpha Psi Omega.
She attended the United States Institute of Theatre Technology Conference in 2023, the South Eastern Theatre Conference in 2024, and has joined the Stage Managers’ Association and the members facebook group.
They hope to become a professional stage manager and may attend graduate school for stage management after graduating with their BFA in 2026.
